This salt works great in my grinder and is yummy. I had no problems with the package; all the salt was contained. A great price for the amount of salt. I'm quite pleased.

Three bucks a pound for salt?
In Italy we always use this type of salt for cooking pasta, and for grilling "alla piastra" or on a cast iron grill on the stove. The piastra is sprinkled with a little coarse salt, and then the food is placed on top. I don't know why this type of salt is not more common in the US. In Italy, it costs 50 cents per kilo retail (and I'm sure they are not losing money.) Here it costs three dollars! Ridiculous.

I ordered three packages and since there was not enough packing material in the shipping box one broke open during shipping, the salt it very coarse (individual salt pieces are very large) so that I have to use our coffee grinder to make them smaller and better suitable for cooking. Salt seems high quality.
